Leroy Sane's recent goal-scoring form has been uncharacteristic in more ways than one.

Bayern Munich fell to Leverkusen 0-3 in the 21st round of the 2023-24 German Bundesliga at the BayArena in Leverkusen, Germany, at 2:30 a.m. ET on Nov. 11. The loss leaves Munich in second place in the league with 16 wins, two draws and three losses (50 points), while Leverkusen remains the league leader with 17 wins, four draws and 55 points.

Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel made a bold tactical change for the match. He opted for a 3-4-3 formation instead of the 4-2-3-1 that has become Munich's signature formation. Eric Dier and Sacha Boye, both winter signings, started up front. As it turned out, Tuchel's choice was a losing proposition. Dyer and Boye both underperformed.

Another player who struggled was Sane. The right wing-forward was not involved offensively at all in this game. When the ball was in his hands, Leverkusen dominated possession. Sané touched the ball 74 times in the game. Of those 74 touches, 19 resulted in turnovers.

Sané committed the most turnovers of any Munich player. Dier was next with 17 turnovers, but Dier had 129 touches in the match. The touch-to-turnover ratio shows just how bad Sané's performance 토토사이트 was.

Sane was the mainstay of Munich's attack alongside Harry Kane earlier this season. He had eight goals and two assists through the ninth round of the league, his best form since joining Munich. However, in his last 12 league games, he hasn't scored a single goal. He does have nine assists, but considering that Sane is supposed to be the goal scorer alongside Kane, it's not good news that his goal drought is getting longer.

Of course, it's also true that Tuchel didn't use Sane properly in this game. Sane is the type of player who thrives when he's in sync with his teammates, but against Leverkusen, he was too lonely. His weaknesses were highlighted by the fact that he was trying to play off the dribble, which is not his strong point.

Without Sane's goalscoring ability and Tuchel's tactical issues, Munich's offense is bound to be a Kane-only affair. Jamal Moussaoui hasn't been the same as of late either. This is a Munich team with multiple problems.
